The shape of the hull and appendages are developed in harmony with the rigging to achieve a well-balanced yacht in all sailing conditions.
The sail plan is designed for maximum efficiency with a self-tacking jib and a full batten mainsail. The deck is also optimized for having a 108% genoa, with more sail area, thus increasing the performance of the yacht.
The boom is tilted forward, as on the whole range of the Dufour Grand Large, to facilitate maneuvers to the area of attachment of the boom. The cockpit is 10 cm longer than the previous 380 to improve the interference with the backstay; a fixed bowsprit will be available as an optional extra to fix a code 0 for better performance in light air.
The novelty of the Dufour 382 is the ability to have two bathrooms as well as being able to choose between the version with two or three cabins and different lay out.
A versatile boat then, given its size, defined FLEXIBLE INNOVATOR.
